My entire life, I’ve watched my grandmothers cook and make these massive spreads of food, all with a pinch of this, a half a handful of that, and laughter as we all thought we were invisible while trying to steal bites before it was served. Throw in a few decades, numerous additions to the family tree and now it is my kitchen that’s full of love and brothers that still think they’re invisible.
Food Love Play developed over a plate of nachos with some of the best friends a woman can have and morphed into my dream come true. Everyday things became an “I should write that down” list. Now, I am so excited to have a thousand ideas, people that will play guinea pigs to recipes and friends with a weird patience for correcting my grammar and spellcheck.
My family and friends are in integral part of my life. Most call me “Zia” and I couldn’t tell my story without theirs. So, with a mixture of family, friends, their babies and their dogs, I hope you enjoy the trial and error that has filled my world with Food Love and Play.
